Adam Licsko
About the Artist
Beginning in late 2000, Adam Licsko, a 30- year-old artist from California, has painted with a conscious force and a focused intent. Adam creates Colorscape that glorifies everything that is right about the spirit of the famed California landscape and the spirit inherent within all of us. “The amazing expression of color in his artworks brings out the physical and the metaphysical qualities of the depicted terroir in ways that very few artists, particularly one so young, can accomplish. Adam’s technique leads to impressions that are so powerful on so many levels that they are reminiscent in some ways of the works of the great landscape masters; however, his work manifests something above and beyond, and that manifestation is that they are deeply and uniquely of him.” In his first five years as a professional artist, his unique minimalist style had attracted an international, devotee following. Along the way his painting career has been featured in countless magazines, newspaper articles and numerous one man shows. Among his many collectors he has an abundance of major corporate collections including Nissan, Amgen Cancer research institute, Seagate Technologies, Raytheon, Loyola Marymount university and State Farm to name a few. Beyond painting, Licsko has an almost maniacal drive for creating in general and is known to nearly “live” in his sketchbooks. “It’s as if I can’t stop…” says, Adam. “I must draw and create everyday. Whether I’m scribbling, scratching the paper or even pulling a piece of charcoal out of the fire pit and drawing on concrete… it’s just what I do”. Adam is an avid designer, musician and inventor. In 2005 he received his first patents for a brilliantly simple device that mounts ton the hip, only 3.5" long, to help maintain proper posture while carrying heavy or awkward loads. He has also worked, freelance, as a co-designer on a project with George Lucas’ ILM along with many other conceptual design projects through the years. Today, this versatile artist’s painting continues to intensify. Forever seeking to “find himself” through his art, it is clear that art making is spiritual and transcendental for him. Adam allows us a private view into his interior world and asks us “do you SEE? Do you FEEL? Are we not all connected?” His style is his own and when you see one of his unique and powerful paintings you will know it is an Adam Licsko. |
